Property:

Phosphoric acid or orthophosphoric acid, chemical formula H3PO4, molecular weight 97.9724, is a common inorganic acid, is medium strong acid. It can be obtained by dissolving phosphorus decoxide in hot water. Apatite can be obtained by treating apatite with sulfuric acid in orthophosphate industry. Phosphoric acid deliquesces easily in air. Heating will lose water to get pyrophosphate, further loss of water to get metaphosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid is mainly used in pharmaceutical, food, fertilizer and other industries, but also can be used as a chemical reagent.

Application:

1.Agriculture: phosphoric acid is the production of important phosphate fertilizer (superphosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, etc.) of raw materials, but also the production of feed nutrients (calcium dihydrogen phosphate) of raw materials:
2.Industrial phosphoric acid is an important chemical raw materials, the main role is as follows:
a.Treatment of metal surface, the formation of insoluble phosphate film on the metal surface, to protect the metal from corrosion and nitric acid mixed
b.as a chemical polishing agent, to improve the surface finish of the metal
c.production of detergent pesticides raw material
d.phosphate ester production of phosphorus-containing flame retardant
3.Food: phosphoric acid is one of the food additives, in the food as sourness agent yeast nutrition, Coca-Cola contains phosphoric acid phosphate is also an important food additive, can be used as a nutritional enhancer
4.medicine: phosphoric acid can be used to make phosphorous drugs, such as glycerin sodium phosphateb.

Storage:

Workers must be trained in handling phosphoric acid. Avoid breathing mist. Prevent contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Store 85% solution above 21 deg C, 81.5% solution above 7 deg C, 80% solution above 4 deg C and 75% solution above -20 deg C to prevent crystallization. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from direct sunlight, alkalis, sulphides, cyanides and metal powders. Store in corrosion-proof ventilated area. Keep soda ash or lime in area for emergency use.
